postage stamp barter update
i am going to ny for a while.
what to do with the coke bottle?
i asked fluther.
and then i asked chris davidson:
"So I think the only honorable thing for you to do is drink the entire 2-liters just before going through security. Just get a video of yourself doing it if at all possible. If you're really daring, try to make a spectacle of it too. Be like a street performer and pretend drinking Coke is a magic trick. Maybe the authorities will get annoyed by that and take you into custody, or maybe you'll make a little money if you put out a collection plate. There's only one way to find out.
Seriously though, don't sweat it. You could pack the soda if you want to. The baggage hold is pressurized, so the bottle won't explode because of that. The baggage handlers flinging your suitcase around is different story though. Can't guarantee the bottle's safety there. It doesn't matter anyway. You don't have to bring it with you. You just have to own the bottle for a year, not have it with you at all times. Just try not to leave it where someone else might drink by mistake."
in keeping with the tone of the barter but also my pragmatic nature, i decided to pass the torch:
i am not going to drink the entire bottle, though that public consumption scenario sounds good and i'll keep it on the back burner.
i am not going to take it with me.
i will leave it with my mother.
should you need a photo of her with it, feel free to ask and i will put in the request.
i appreciate your understanding.
