your personal cultural attache
though i'm pretty confident and focused on my current career path, i'd love to be a cultural attache.
here is me practicing by telling you all of my recent film findings:
i highly recommend you tube's new feature - the screening room. my current favorite is miranda july's newest short.
this lead me to discover wolphin's - which is mcsweeneys for film shorts.
but it also costs a lot of money, and who has that?
speaking of a lot of money, hal hartley's movie Trust, one of the only narrative fiction films i love, is impossibly difficult to rent and expensive to buy.
but now it is available on youtube for FREE if you don't mind it being cut up into 10 minute segments.
youtube=youtopia.
lastly, my two favorite you tube clips from the past months.
FUNNY (human giant - mother and son moving company)
INTENSE (new yorker video - 41 hours trapped in elevator, footage sped up so you can see the man's reaction in 3 minutes)
ok, on to more judy-centric things.
PERSONAL NEWS:
moving to santa monica for 2 months starting saturday.
finished my first rough cut of my video date my friend series - comments welcome. i should have a final cut and my website up by next week.
CRAIGSLIST NOTE:
On sunday I posted an ad on women seeking men in both new york and los angeles trying to assess this demographic:

i explicitly asked for a response with a photobooth picture taken at the moment reading the ad.
i got 140 responses, 100ish with picutres, and only THREE with an actual photobooth picture.
when i think about it, three is kind of cool, but three out of ONE HUNDRED FOURTY is ridiculous. That's like, 1 out of a million!
This does not help me assess which craigslist is better (as I was previously certain that new york's was better) but does strengthen my suspicion that i like the idea of craigslist much more than the results i get from it.
