Notes played well, blown away, and searched through.

Three things of note.

1) On a very pretty note, last night I was blessed with the music of the Ahmad Jamal Trio. Ahmad being a fantastic jazz pianist, my company being Danny and his father. A wonderful evening, a perfect performance. The men didn't talk once. No introductions, no segues. Just straight music. And I couldn't have appreciated it more. A mastery of volume I don't think I've ever seen. A bass and drum player of equal talent to the piano - all three in perfect synch... and the endings of each song so meticulous yet so, uncontrived? And three 75 year old men who can play like that, is there anything more endearing? My only complaint being that it would have been an ideal performance for a smaller venue.

2) On a far more serious note, why am I the only one in shock that leaf blowers are illegal in LA? As quoted on the website devoted to this issue, http://www.zapla.org

"Los Angeles Residents, if your neighbors can’t or won’t control their gardeners after your polite requests, REPORT a blower in progress to 877-275-5273 and select number 1, Non-Emergency Crimes."

I'm glad THIS is how we are solving air pollution. If we REALLY want to combat the situation, we're going to have to upgrade this crime to full fledged emergency.

3) And on a much more electronic note, my newest source of inspiration is nothing more than old emails. I decided that sifting through them would only be worthwhile if I could do it at random - so I searched my sent and received messages that contained a random word of my choice in their body.
For example, Number of emails with the word 'banana' = 4
I am still surprised with how long it is taking for this game to get old. Not only does it supply hours of entertainment (ultimately, just rereading every good yet forgotten email), but it is a great tool for learning about yourself.
For example:
Number of emails I have sent containing the word "delicious": 166.
