The Wonder of the Soulive show
So Danny, Claire and I went to the House of Blues last night on Sunset to see Soulive.
All together, one of the best shows i've ever been to.
We went early, to ensure front row standage.
Totally worth it.
The opening act was Ledisi - a band with amazing stage presence - I happen to be quite taken away with both the drummer and the lead singer. (www.Ledisi.com) I'd have to say they were just as good if not better than Soulive themselves.
Thennnn Soulive came on - I was dissapointed with the horns, but both the guitar (eric krasno, who is also the guitarist from Lettuce which is another band i loooove)

and drums

were stellar. I really enjoyed the way the drummer in the Soulive looked, complete with his dancing afro and intense facial expression, but the way the first drummer played in Ledisi was much more captivating and texturized.
And then, as an encore, they played Stevie Wonder's Jesus Children.
That in itself was totally awesome.
But then....

THE stevie wonder came out on stage and blessed us with some harmonica playing, and then sang for a while.
The entire crowd had a ridiculous collective heart attack.
And, I was about 3 feet away from him and his glorius linen suit.
So, in short, a completely and utterly fantastic show.

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking of him.
